Showgirl of the Year 2000

Showgirl of the Year 2000 2017-01-12T16:30:14+00:00
This years National Finals of Deja Vu’s Nude Showgirl of the Year Championships 2000, was executed at the newly remodeled, and acquired Deja Vu of Cincinnati! This years festivities were simply amazing. Not only was this major circuit competition being held at brand, spanking new Cinci Vu’, but it would also be the perfect spot for regional finalist’s to prove themselves after preparing for the onslaught all year. National finalist’s had to first conquer their home club’s to win a spot at the national’s. Sound easy? It’s not. The twelve National contestant’s had to battle it out first at local level and then regional level at Deja Vu’s across the country. This sometimes involves hundred’s of girls. And breaking it down to again the first battle it out twelve finalists was no piece of cake either. Every year there are so many great performers entering the competition, plus last years runners-up that are taking another shot at greatness. (Boy, I’d hate to be in their five inch heels.) And try winning a top title that is regarded to be in the top five performance pageants on the planet today, with ten or so national magazine photographers blinding you through your entire show. Or how about a handful of syndicated video crews mapping out your every spin and turn, while a panel of judges which are usually movie directors, sports figures and industry folk alike, critique everything about you, and your little dog. There also is a paranoia of props failing, slipping and falling, katy contestants and the deejay screwing up your music. That is serious pressure my friend, and winning is only part of the game, surviving is the ultimate goal. And when we asked former Showgirl of the Year and Pole Champion Zoe, of the Deja Vu of Ypsilanti, MichiganThere also what was the most important part of her show, she smiled and commented softly: “A good pair of fucking shoes.” (“Sensible Shoes” I always knew David Lee Roth was right.) Four major categories would be judged by years panel. Evening Gown, Talent, Bikini and Stage Performance. Each of these divisions were very important for gathering points, with Stage Performance holding most of the spotlight.

Opening night produced crowd’s of curious patrons, who lined the entrance-way of the stunning Cincinnati Deja Vu, which was almost filled to capacity. This bright new gem of the Deja Vu chain stocks well over 100 showgirls of its own, and surpasses anything we have seen in southern Ohio. And if you could picture a 600 capacity show club jammed to the rafters with naked entertainers working the stages and industry royalty jamming the VIP rooms, you would soon come to realize where the chain got its slogan: “Where the party never end’s.” It’s because it doesn’t, and neither does the work. The floor staff and management of the Cinci locale worked their fingers to the bone in preparation of this competition. And a lot of pressure was riding on the shoulders of the club’s general manager Jason Garvey. After all, he had to follow the last Showgirl of the Year competition held at the Deja Vu of North Hollywood, Ca., which was the best in the chains history.

Backstage, the enormous dressing room buzzed like a beehive. The stage crew carried props to designated locations, pools, props and costumes rolled through the room like a Broadway play intermission. Contestants helped each other get ready for their show’s and wished each other luck. There is a lot of sister hood between Deja Vu entertainers, and it is nice to see such moral confidence among competitors. And since at least one tenth of the big feature performers today have come, at one time or another, from a Deja Vu club, I realized not only was I observing history in the making, but I was also seeing a new generation of future stage stars. Wow.

Once again, this years event was being hosted by none other than, Deja Vu’s “King of Comedy, the Prince of Pun and President of Puckered Asses, and the Big Ant” himself, Anthony of the Deja Vu Minneapolis. Co-hosting was also the sexy siren of hundreds of XXX-rated films, Wicked Pictures contract girl and SHOWGIRLS publisher, Serenity. And to her far right was the previous winner of Showgirl of the Year, the captivating Kitana. This year the Big Ant sported a leopard skin zuit suit Ant sported a leopard skin. Serenity and Kitana were clad in canary yellow, custom made zuit suit’s made by El Pachico of Fullerton, Ca. The only difference was that the girls didn’t have a whole lot on underneath!! At the judges table we found the amazing Johnni Black star many adult feature fuck flicks. Not far from her was E.D. Publication envoy Larry Kaplan and Tori, former Showgirl of the Year and Po’lympics champion The opening of the show took off like a rocket, with all eyes front and center. Show after blazing show unraveled across the clubs main stage to deafening waves of applause. Hunter from the Deja Vu Showgirls of Las Vegas knocked the judges out with a killer America show, while the delectable Zoe of the Deja Vu of Ypsilanti, Mi. tore the club apart with a great intergalactic show. The naughty Nadia of the Deja Vu of Bakersfield, Ca. really raked in the points with a fabulous Wonder Woman spoof a.k.a. Nadia style, complete with ray guns. Autumn of the Federal Way, Wa. Deja Vu put on a stunning performance with a tribute to P.O.W.’s in her army bivouac show. Angel from the Deja Vu Lake City, Wa. really turned some head’s with her angel show. She painted a 69 on her butt with marshmallows, and sat in candy sprinkles. Yummy! Sabrina of the Deja Vu Dreamgirls of San Diego, Ca. Put on a lovely Hawaiian skit for her talent portion of the competition portion of the competition, and hit all the stops in a blonde wig spinning pole tricks. Maria of the Deja Vu of Lexington, Ky. put on a very high energy dance performance while, Cassandra of the Lansing Deja Vu whipped it up with a sexy cowgirl set.

During different parts of the competition, the insane Anthony portrayed many of his characters such as Antoinette, Stinkerbelle the ballet dancer and many more. He beat down so many one-liners the crowd’s sides hurt from laughing. Serenity and Kitana razzed the crowd all evening looking so eatable and beautiful. But as the night began to come to an end, it was time to rip the score sheets out of the judges hand’s, and pick a winner for the 2000 show.

As the big man hit the stage, the crowd lowered the volume, and the gorgeous ladies lined-up on stage. And then Anthony faced the crowd and began: “In 3rd runner-up position from the Deja Vu of Lansing, Mi. Cassandra. In second runner-up position from the Deja Vu of Minneapolis, Mn. the lovely Autumn. In the first runner-up position from the Deja Vu of Ypsilanti, Mi. the insatiable Zoe. And the winner of the 2000 Showgirl of the Year crown is Monique of the San Diego Midway Deja Vu! Monique accepted her crown from Kitana with tears of joy running down her cheeks. Showgirls Magazine would like to thank Deja Vu Cincinnati General Manager Jason Garvey for his hospitality, and to all of the beautiful contestants at this years Showgirl of the Year. Special thanks to Leslie for putting together a great show this year. Way cool baby!
